A political pressure group in Ndokwa land, NdokwaForward, has commended the Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, for approving a series of road infrastructure projects aimed at transforming communities in Ndokwa East and Ndokwa West Local Government Areas.
The group described the approval as a significant step toward accelerating development across Ndokwa communities and improving connectivity within the area.
In a statement signed by Rt. Hon. Samuel Osasa, Dr. Omordi George Ugbomah, and Chief Isaac Onyesom, NdokwaForward noted that the projects form part of the Delta State Government’s ₦400 billion infrastructure initiative designed to expand road networks and boost economic activities across the state.
According to the group, the approved projects include the Ogbedigbo Afor Road with a spur to Obi Palace Road, Ebendo–Iyasele–Ashaka Road, Ogbe-Ogume–Ebendo Road Phase One, as well as critical access roads leading to the Kwale Free Trade Zone.
NdokwaForward said the projects would significantly improve transportation, facilitate trade and commerce, and stimulate socio-economic growth in Ndokwa land.
The group also commended the Deputy Governor of Delta State, Monday Onyeme, for ensuring that the Ndokwa area was adequately represented in the state’s ambitious infrastructure programme.
It noted that the inclusion of the roads demonstrates the administration’s commitment to equitable development and its understanding of the strategic importance of Ndokwa to Delta State’s economic growth.
“These roads are more than just transportation corridors; they represent hope, progress, and opportunity for the people of Ndokwa,” the statement said.
NdokwaForward added that the modernization of the road network would ease the movement of goods and people, attract investment to the area, and improve access to markets, thereby positioning Ndokwa as a hub of economic activity and regional development.
The group further urged community leaders, stakeholders and contractors involved in the projects to collaborate closely with the state government to ensure the timely and successful execution of the projects.
It reaffirmed its commitment to advocating for development, unity and progress in Ndokwa land, expressing optimism that the infrastructure projects would usher in a new era of growth and prosperity for the region.
