Popular Port Harcourt Event Planner Fatally Shot by Gunmen

A well-known event planner, Mina Orupabo, has been shot dead by unidentified assailants in Port Harcourt.

Orupabo, the CEO of Special Bensington Ushers, was reportedly attacked on Thursday evening, March 19, 2026, at approximately 8:00 p.m. on Total Gospel Road, off Peter Odili Road.




According to reports, she was en route to an event hall for a pre-event inspection when the gunmen opened fire. Her driver and another companion with her managed to escape the attack unharmed.

Mina Orupabo was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries on Saturday.

Authorities are yet to identify the perpetrators or determine a motive behind the attack. The incident has sparked shock and mourning within the Port Harcourt event planning community, with many colleagues and clients paying tribute to her contributions to the industry.

No official statement has been released by law enforcement as investigations continue.
