Warri, Delta State – March 5, 2026
The Warri Urhobo Leadership Council of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has formally congratulated the newly elected State Chairman of the party, Chief Solomon Arenyeka, the Delta South Senatorial District Chairman, Chief Emman Amgbaduba, and the entire members of the newly constituted Delta State Executive Committee (EXCO) following their election at the just-concluded state congress.
In a statement signed by Olorogun Bernard Okumagba (Chairman), Hon. Chief Benson Obire (Vice Chairman), Chief Vincent Okudolor (Secretary) and other prominent council members, the group described the emergence of the new leadership as a “well-deserved victory” that reflects the individuals’ proven commitment, leadership capacity and dedication to the unity and progress of the APC in Delta State.
“We warmly congratulate Chief Solomon Arenyeka on his election as State Chairman, Chief Emman Amgbaduba on his emergence as Delta South Senatorial District Chairman, and all other members of the new State EXCO,” the statement read. “Their election is a testament to their respective track records of service, consensus-building skills and unwavering belief in the ideals of our great party.”
The council expressed strong confidence that the new leadership, particularly the State Chairman, would steer the APC in Delta State toward greater cohesion, membership growth and renewed political strength, especially in the Delta South Senatorial District.
“We are optimistic that under the leadership of Chief Arenyeka and the support of the entire EXCO, our party will experience renewed unity, expanded grassroots presence and stronger electoral performance as we approach future contests,” the statement added.
While celebrating the new executives, the Warri Urhobo APC Leadership Council used the occasion to reiterate its long-standing position on the ethnic composition and power-sharing dynamics within Delta South Senatorial District.
The council emphasized that Delta South comprises four indigenous ethnic nationalities—Ijaw, Isoko, Itsekiri and Urhobo—who have historically contributed significantly to the political strength, development and electoral fortunes of both the APC and the state at large.
“In this regard, we respectfully urge the party at all levels, as well as the Delta State Government, to always recognize and respect this important diversity,” the statement continued. “Representation, infrastructure development, appointments, empowerment opportunities and all dividends of democracy—whether from the government or the party—must be fairly, evenly and equitably distributed among the four ethnic groups that make up Delta South Senatorial District.”
The group argued that consistent adherence to the principles of fairness, equity and inclusiveness would deepen unity, foster mutual respect among the nationalities, reduce tension and promote sustainable socio-economic development across the senatorial district.
The council concluded by wishing the new State Chairman, the Delta South Senatorial District Chairman and all members of the State EXCO a successful, peaceful and impactful tenure in office.
