The Delta State Commissioner for Works (Highways and Urban Roads), Comrade Reuben Izeze, has publicly declared his support for Hon. Francis Ejiroghene Waive’s bid to return to the House of Representatives in the 2027 general elections.
Hon. Waive, who currently represents the Ughelli North/Ughelli South/Udu Federal Constituency and serves as Chairman of the House Committee on Rules and Business in the 10th National Assembly, is seeking a third term in office. He has pledged to consolidate on his legislative achievements and strengthen representation for his constituency.
In a statement posted on his Facebook page, Izeze affirmed his personal endorsement of Waive’s re-election ambition, describing it as a deliberate and ideological position.
However, the commissioner emphasized that his support is rooted in loyalty to the leadership of Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, whom he described as his “boss, elder brother, and leader.” He stressed that his political alignment remains consistent with the governor’s leadership and development agenda.
Izeze further clarified that he does not operate under divided political loyalty, reaffirming his singular commitment to Governor Oborevwori’s administration.
The commissioner also disclosed that he had personally communicated his position to another aspirant, Mr. Samuel Mariere, whom he described as a close associate, while appreciating his understanding despite differing political interests.
He further suggested that the emergence of candidates through direct primaries could play a decisive role in shaping the 2027 electoral contest within the constituency.
Izeze’s endorsement adds to the growing political momentum surrounding Hon. Waive’s third-term ambition, as alignments and consultations continue to intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections in Delta State.
