Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has formally inaugurated the New Dynamic Forum (NDF), a new grassroots political platform established to mobilize widespread support for his administration and the anticipated re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The inauguration ceremony, which took place on Saturday at the Open Mobile Camp Field, Ovwian-Aladja Police Station, off Egini Drive, attracted political stakeholders, community leaders, party faithful, youth groups, women associations, and supporters from different parts of Delta State. The event was widely seen as a significant step in strengthening grassroots political structures as the political landscape gradually begins to shape toward the next election cycle.
Governor Oborevwori, who was represented at the event by his Senior Policy Adviser and State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Funkekeme Solomon, used the occasion to underscore the importance of political organization, unity, and sustained community engagement in achieving long-term development goals.
Delivering the governor’s address, Solomon stated that the New Dynamic Forum is not merely another political association but a strategic platform deliberately designed to deepen grassroots mobilization and reinforce the gains already being recorded by the current administration in Delta State.
According to the statement delivered on behalf of the governor, the establishment of the forum comes at a crucial time when political structures must begin to reposition themselves for more effective citizen engagement, policy communication, and electoral participation.
Governor Oborevwori described the New Dynamic Forum as a timely and visionary initiative that reflects the growing need for people-oriented political movements capable of bridging the gap between leadership and the grassroots. He noted that the strength of any democratic system lies in the ability of its structures to connect meaningfully with the people at the ward, local government, and community levels.
The governor particularly commended the convener of the forum, Mr. S.K. Palama, for what he described as exceptional foresight, dedication, and commitment to the cause of progressive political engagement. He praised Palama for creating a platform that has the potential to energize political participation and strengthen the support base of the administration.
He noted that initiatives such as the New Dynamic Forum demonstrate the importance of organized political action and the role that committed individuals can play in shaping the future of governance and electoral success.
Speaking further, the governor stressed that the forum must not be reduced to ceremonial gatherings or symbolic political events. Rather, he charged members to transform it into a functional and active vehicle for mobilization, sensitization, and effective dissemination of government policies, achievements, and developmental programmes.
According to him, the responsibility of the forum extends beyond political support to include civic education, grassroots sensitization, and public enlightenment on the ongoing efforts of both the state and federal governments.
He urged members of the New Dynamic Forum to expand their activities across every ward in the state, ensuring that no community is left behind in the mobilization process. Special emphasis, he said, should be placed on youth and women participation, given their strategic role in political development and democratic consolidation.
The governor further encouraged the leadership of the forum to build a strong, sustainable, and people-driven network capable of reaching every segment of society. He maintained that true political strength is built not on noise or public showmanship but on unity, structure, and collective purpose.
“As we look ahead to 2027, we must remain united, focused, and committed. True strength lies not in noise but in unity of purpose,” the statement read.
He further described the forum as a “laboratory of ideas and a workshop of action,” where innovative political strategies and practical grassroots solutions can be developed to support governance and future electoral objectives.
A major highlight of the address was the governor’s reaffirmation of Delta State’s commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He emphasized that continuity in leadership remains essential to sustaining development, preserving policy direction, and ensuring that ongoing projects are completed for the benefit of the people.
Observers at the event noted that the inauguration of the New Dynamic Forum signals an early move toward consolidating political structures ahead of 2027. Many described the initiative as a strategic grassroots response to the evolving political realities in the state and at the national level.
Political stakeholders present at the gathering expressed optimism that the forum would serve as a formidable support structure for Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as conversations around continuity and electoral preparedness intensify.
At the conclusion of the event, Governor Oborevwori, through his representative, formally declared the New Dynamic Forum inaugurated and charged members to remain steadfast, loyal, and proactive in advancing the forum’s objectives.
He expressed confidence that the platform would play a pivotal role in shaping political engagement, influencing public discourse, and delivering meaningful outcomes in Delta State as the journey toward 2027 gathers momentum.
The inauguration has since generated considerable interest within political circles, with many analysts viewing it as an important development in the state’s political mobilization efforts. For many supporters, the New Dynamic Forum represents not just a political platform, but a renewed commitment to continuity, grassroots inclusion, and sustained development.
