Oborevwori’s Infrastructure Drive Reshaping Delta - Aniagwu

The Delta State Government has intensified its push on infrastructure development as a strategic tool for political stability and economic growth, with the Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Charles Aniagwu, affirming that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is delivering on his administration’s development blueprint.

Speaking during an interview on Politics Tonight, a programme on Television Continental (TVC), Aniagwu highlighted the administration’s deliberate focus on rural road construction and rehabilitation as a means of unlocking economic opportunities across communities in Delta State.

According to the commissioner, the Oborevwori-led government has adopted infrastructure as a central pillar of its MORE Agenda, noting that improving rural accessibility is already impacting agricultural productivity, trade, and social integration across the state.

He stated that key urban renewal projects, including the three flyovers in Effurun and Warri, are nearing completion as scheduled, while others at Otovwodo Junction in Ughelli and Uromi Junction in Agbor are also progressing steadily.

He explained that several rural road projects, previously neglected, are now receiving attention, connecting riverine and agrarian communities to urban markets.

This, he said, is not only improving the livelihoods of residents but also strengthening the political trust between the government and the people.

Aniagwu stressed that infrastructure development under the current administration goes beyond road construction, describing it as a governance philosophy aimed at inclusive growth.

He noted that by prioritizing previously underserved areas, the government is addressing long-standing development gaps and promoting equitable distribution of resources.

On political developments in the state, the commissioner stated that Delta State remains peaceful and united under the capable leadership of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, adding that the visible impact of ongoing projects has significantly boosted public confidence in the administration.

He argued that governance anchored on tangible results naturally translates into political goodwill, adding that the Oborevwori administration is more focused on performance than rhetoric.

“The essence of governance is to improve the lives of the people, and that is exactly what Governor Oborevwori is doing through massive infrastructure development,” Aniagwu said, emphasizing that the administration remains committed to delivering projects that directly affect the grassroots.

He further disclosed that the government is ensuring quality and timely delivery of projects through strict supervision and adherence to standards, noting that contractors are being held accountable to ensure value for money.

Aniagwu also linked infrastructure expansion to security and social stability, explaining that improved road networks enhance mobility for security agencies while opening up isolated communities, thereby reducing crime and fostering peace.

Reiterating the administration’s commitment, he assured that more projects are in the pipeline, particularly in rural areas, as part of efforts to sustain development momentum across the state.

The commissioner concluded that the Oborevwori administration’s blend of infrastructure development and responsive governance is gradually redefining politics in Delta State, where performance, rather than promises, is becoming the benchmark for leadership.
