Nigerian singer Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, has opened up about what convinced him that his wife, Ivy Zenny, was the right partner for him.
In an interview with Clout Africa, the former P-Square star said marriage is enjoyable but should not be treated as a do-or-die commitment, noting that separation is sometimes necessary when things no longer work.
Rudeboy revealed that after his previous marriage ended, he dated three different women, but none met his expectations until he met Ivy. According to him, he was searching for peace and authenticity—qualities he found in her.
He recounted a defining moment early in their relationship when he offered to take her shopping. Instead of splurging, Ivy picked only two items and remarked that the same money could buy many clothes at Tejuosho market. That moment, he said, deeply impressed him and showed her genuine nature.
“I was looking for peace, and she was just real,” he said.
The singer also shared that some of his songs were inspired by past relationships, including Reason With Me, which he said was based on an experience with an ex.
Addressing his legal issues, Rudeboy disclosed that he has been cleared by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over a previous case, adding that an official statement would be released in due course.
Paul Okoye was previously married to Anita Okoye, with whom he has three children. He is now married to Ivy Zenny, and the couple share a daughter together.
