EFFURUN — The Executive Chairman of Uvwie Local Government Council, Hon. Chief Anthony Onoriode Ofoni (JP), has extended his warmest congratulations to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the Executive Governor of Delta State, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, as they celebrate their landmark third year in office.
In a celebratory press statement issued today from the council headquarters in Effurun, Chief Ofoni described the three-year milestone as a triumphant reflection of vision, dedicated service, and profound impact on the lives of ordinary citizens. He commended both leaders for their tireless efforts in steering the nation and the state toward sustainable growth and stability despite global economic challenges.
Reflecting on the achievements of the administration at the national level, the Uvwie Council boss praised President Tinubu’s bold economic policies and commitment to national integration. He noted that the Renewed Hope agenda has laid a resilient foundation for long-term economic growth, national security, and structural reforms that are repositioning Nigeria for future prosperity.
Closer to home, Chief Ofoni poured glowing accolades on Governor Oborevwori for his impactful execution of the MORE Agenda in Delta State. He lauded the governor’s special focus on Urban Renewal, particularly within the Uvwie and Warri environs, which has brought about a visible transformation in local geography and civic pride.
"On behalf of the government and the good people of Uvwie Local Government Area, I heartily congratulate our President and our dear Governor on three years of purposeful, people-centered governance," Chief Ofoni stated. "In Delta State, His Excellency Governor Oborevwori has proven that leadership is about continuity, accountability, and visible results. We are witnessing an unprecedented drive in good quality infrastructure, most notably the historic flyovers, cloverleaf, and road expansion projects being executed by Julius Berger right here in our backyard."
Beyond physical infrastructure, the Council Chairman highly commended both tiers of government for delivering comprehensive dividends of democracy across key social sectors:
1. Better Healthcare & Stronger Education: Chief Ofoni praised the systematic upgrades of primary and secondary healthcare facilities, as well as the sustained investment in public school infrastructure and teacher welfare, which have jointly enhanced the quality of life for families in Uvwie.
2. Economic Growth: He acknowledged the strategic macroeconomic interventions of the federal government and the localized business-friendly policies of the state government that have kept small businesses afloat and attracted private investments.
3. Youth and Women Empowerment: The Chairman gave special credit to Governor Oborevwori’s robust skill acquisition programs and financial inclusion initiatives, which have systematically pulled thousands of youth and women out of joblessness and turned them into self-reliant entrepreneurs.
Chief Ofoni reaffirmed the unalloyed loyalty and cooperation of the Uvwie Local Government Council with both the state and federal administrations.
He promised that his local administration will continue to replicate these progressive policies at the grassroots level to ensure that the vision of peace, security, and prosperity is felt by every resident of Uvwie.
"As we look forward to the remaining years of this mandate, we pray for continued divine wisdom, good health, and strength for our President and our Governor as they lead us into an even more glorious era of development," Chief Ofoni concluded.
