This commendation came at the instance of the 10th-year anniversary of the religious organization, during which an ambulance was presented to the Ekpan General Hospital, Ekpan to boost their operations.
Joined by his vice, 𝐇𝐨𝐧. 𝐀𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐰 𝐀𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐛𝐨, and the Leader of the Uvwie Legislative Arm, 𝐑𝐭. 𝐇𝐨𝐧. 𝐑𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐔𝐫𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐲𝐢, Chairman Ofoni gave his remark, expressing his depth of gladness being a part of the event, which, according to him, is a memorable day for the Ekpan General Hospital and the people of Uvwie Local Government Area at large.
Expressing his gratitude to His Royal Majesty, Dr. Emmanuel Sideso JP, OON, Abe 1, the Ovie of the Uvwie Kingdom; the good people of Uvwie LGA; and to the lead pastor of the Redeemed Church of God (Champions Cathedral), Pastor Emmanuel Emefienem, Chief Ofoni noted that the generous donation of an ambulance to Ekpan General Hospital is highly remarkable and stands as a shining example of how faith-based organizations can partner with the government to improve the welfare of the people.
He further noted that, by the generous provision of an ambulance by the Champions Cathedral to the Ekpan General Hospital, we come to terms with the truth that development can be realized when partnerships are struck and efforts are combined by both the government and the private sector.
He noted that, just as the administration of his excellency, 𝐑𝐭. 𝐇𝐨𝐧. (𝐄𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐫) 𝐒𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐟𝐟 𝐎𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐢, would always give priority attention to health matters through his all-encompassing 𝐌.𝐎.𝐑.𝐄. 𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐚, the donation of an ambulance to the Ekpan General Hospital will further boost the health sector and ensure speedy responses to critical health situations.
Speaking further, Chairman Ofoni noted that more lives would be saved in Uvwie and its environs by health practitioners at the Ekpan General Hospital as a result of the donation, which would enhance responses to emergency health situations as well as fast-track the transportation of vital materials for the treatment of patients in the health facility.
The Uvwie council boss acknowledged the concern shown by the religious body for the welfare of humanity while expressing hope that their act of kindness and generosity would inspire other organizations to partner with the government in making life better and more meaningful for the living. Chief Ofoni also hoped that the ambulance would be put into proper use and maintained for the benefit of the people of Uvwie LGA and neighboring local government areas.
He noted that both the state and local government are always open to partnerships that will further the development of communities and better the lives of dwellers. He seized the opportunity to call on well-meaning individuals to join hands with the government in giving back to society, just as the Champions' Cathedral have demonstrated through their donation of an ambulance to the Ekpan General Hospital.
Above all, Chief Ofoni congratulated the Champions Cathedral for continuing to thrive as champions, even as they celebrate their 10th anniversary. He prayed for God's continuous blessings and elevation for the lead pastor and members of the Redeemed Church of God (Champions' Cathedral), as he tendered his appreciation to the body on behalf of the good people of Uvwie Local Government Area.
Also speaking at the event, 𝐇𝐑𝐌 𝐃𝐫. 𝐄𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐞𝐥 𝐒𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐨 𝐉𝐏, 𝐎𝐎𝐍, 𝐀𝐛𝐞 1, the Ovie of the Uvwie Kingdom, noted that today makes it the third time he has joined in the commissioning/unveiling of provisions made for the hospital, which indicates improvement in the health facility.
The traditional ruler, who noted that Uvwie is a commercial center in Delta State, noted that the kingdom is in need of provisions that will fast-track its progress and facilities that will match its status. He commended the state governor for the impressive work going on in the Ekpan General Hospital, noting that the Sheriff-led administration has greatly impacted the Uvwie kingdom.
The Uvwie monarch further commended the Emefienim-led Champions' Cathedral for their commitment to the welfare of humanity through their donation of an ambulance to the Ekpan General Hospital. He congratulated the religious body on their 10th anniversary, wishing them many more glorious years of success and impact ahead.
𝐃𝐫 𝐄𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐞𝐥 𝐄𝐦𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐦 who attributed the privilege of giving to God almighty, thanked his esteemed guests for being witnesses of the ministry's donation to the hospital, as part of their legacy project on the ministry's 10th anniversary.
He recounted how the vision of donating ambulances to hospitals was birthed in Lagos during a similar gesture to one of the foremost hospitals in Lagos state. According to him the reaction of the people to theiri donation made him realize the importance of an ambulance to the said hospital which motivated him to replicate thesame gesture for his people.
According to him, the 10th anniversary of the Champions Cathedral family became a perfect opportunity to express what he described as a "mission policy" in the Redeemed Christian Church of God. He noted that the Church prioritizes the exercise of her corporate social responsibility as a way of supporting and empowering the community within which it operate.
The Delta Province 20 lead Pastor further expressed satisfaction with what the state government and the local government are doing, particularly in the health sector. He noted that as God enables them, they will continue to support the good works of the government so that lives would be more meaningful for the people just as souls are saved for God's kingdom.
Representing the governor of the state at the event, the Delta State Commissioner for Health, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐉𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐩𝐡 𝐎𝐠𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐨𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐚 𝐎𝐧𝐨𝐣𝐚𝐞𝐦𝐞, commended the generosity of the Champions' Cathedral under Dr. Emmanuel Efe Emefienim CON, noting that the provision of ambulances to Ekpan General Hospital and the Central Hospital, Warri, perfectly aligns with the vision of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff Oborevwori, whose impact has been largely felt by the health sector, including the Ekpan General Hospital, where a special unit for mother and child is being built.
He formalized the commissioning of the ambulance and took an inspection of the component parts of the vehicle, which he confirmed fit and suitable for use, just as he officially dedicated it to the Ekpan General Hospital, Ekpan, Uvwie LGA.
The unveiling of the ambulance donated to the Ekpan hospital today reinforces the need for organizations to take their corporate social responsibility seriously, as such efforts by organizations contribute in no small way to the welfare of community dwellers and ensure society develops at a faster pace.
With the donation of an ambulance by the Champions' Cathedral to the Ekpan General Hospital, it suffices to say that the effort of the state government in enhancing the health sector through the establishment of a massive mother and child care unit in Ekpan General Hospital for the people of Uvwie Local Government Area, as well as the establishment of a M𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐧 C𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞 H𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 by the Ofoni-led administration, among other things, has met with a commendable collaboration from the private sector, a pattern that should be encouraged among religious and corporate organizations.
Apart from the personalities whose speeches are acknowledged above, the event was well attended by dignitaries from the health sector in the state, respected chiefs of the Uvwie Kingdom, the political class, members of the Champions' Cathedral, and several other opinion makers.
