Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has broken a 20-year infrastructure jinx in Jaba Local Government Area by officially commissioning five township roads and a key regional route in Kwoi, the council’s headquarters.
During the commissioning ceremony, the governor recalled performing the groundbreaking ceremony for the projects last September, noting that he had promised the community the intervention would be delivered. He stated that redeeming that pledge strengthens the trust and bond between the state government and the populace.
The newly commissioned infrastructure network includes:
* Audu Tilo Road
* Sabon Gari Road
* Doctor Sani Road
* Hospital Road
* Kpop Ham Palace Road
* Kwoi–Gora Road
Governor Sani expressed regret that for more than two decades, Jaba Local Government Area had not witnessed a single completed kilometer of road construction. He pointed out that Jaba was among 12 local government areas previously neglected in terms of road infrastructure, describing such historical imbalances as inconsistent with the principles of fairness, equity, and justice.
To correct these imbalances, the governor stated that his administration has pursued a deliberate statewide infrastructure agenda designed to bring development to every corner of Kaduna State. Across the state's 23 local government areas, his administration has initiated 150 road projects covering more than 1,355 kilometers, with the vast majority already completed. He emphasized that these projects represent a resolve to ensure no community is excluded from the dividends of democracy.
The governor highlighted the strategic economic and social benefits of the newly completed Kwoi township roads, noting that they will significantly enhance local mobility, improve access to healthcare and education, stimulate business activities, and ease transportation for local farmers and traders.
Reflecting on the historical condition of the Kwoi-Gora Road, Governor Sani recalled how the route was previously synonymous with severe hardship—particularly during the rainy season due to heavy erosion, which isolated communities and inflated transport costs. He concluded that the completed road marks a new chapter that will foster social cohesion, improve emergency response, facilitate the movement of agricultural produce, and open up Jaba Local Government Area to wider investment opportunities.
