The Indigenous People of Biafra has expressed its profound gratitude to the Knesset of the State of Israel following an official diplomatic reception accorded to its delegation in Jerusalem.
In a statement released on Saturday by its spokesperson, Comrade Emma Powerful, the group extended its appreciation to the Deputy Speaker of the Knesset, Nissim Vaturi, and a Member of the Foreign Affairs and Security Committee, Limor Son Har-Melech, for what it described as a warm and highly productive engagement.
According to the separatist group, which operates under the leadership of Nnamdi Kanu and its Directorate of State headed by Chris Nwaọgụ, the meeting in Jerusalem marks a significant milestone in its ongoing international diplomatic outreach. The group noted that the constructive discussions reflect its long-held conviction that its objectives will be advanced through strategic partnerships with Israel and the United States, based on shared values of justice and liberty.
The statement highlighted the deep historical affinities shared between the Jewish and Biafran peoples, drawing inspiration from Israel’s rebirth in 1948. IPOB argued that Judeo-Christian communities and other minorities currently face systematic security threats across Nigeria, making the quest for self-determination more urgent.
Reiterating its core mandate, the group maintained that the restoration of Biafra as an independent sovereign state remains the only viable and lasting solution to protect vulnerable minorities and bring genuine stability to the region.
The organization welcomed the diplomatic breakthrough in Jerusalem, noting that parallel advocacy efforts are simultaneously continuing in Washington, D.C., and other global capitals. The statement concluded by reaffirming IPOB's commitment to lawful diplomacy, non-violent struggle, and constructive international engagement in accordance with international law.
