Apple officially introduced its first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, during its annual hardware event held at the company's headquarters in California on Wednesday.

The announcement marks a significant structural expansion for the company's flagship product lineup. The device features an asymmetric folding design that opens into a 7.6-inch Super Retina XDR display, providing a substantially larger viewing area than traditional smartphone formats.

According to technical specifications presented during the product launch, the unfolded inner display is 50 percent larger than the newly announced iPhone 18 Pro Max and 80 percent larger than the standard iPhone 18 Pro model introduced alongside the flagship foldable.

Apple highlighted the engineering elements of the new form factor, noting that when fully opened, the iPhone Duo stands as the thinnest iPhone produced to date. To ensure overall durability and maintain structural integrity across the flexible hinge mechanism, the device utilizes an aerospace-grade titanium chassis.
