Merciful shall be shown mercy

The first four beatitudes represent a child of God as conscious of their need of salvation. The next three beatitudes show them as conducting themselves accordingly having found salvation. Blessed are the merciful, for they shall be shown mercy. Mercy here refers to a compassionate regard towards those in misery or suffering whether in body, soul, or spirit. A child of God has no option than to show mercy remembering that God showed them undeserved mercy and we still partake of it every moment. The merciful man is blessed because he shall obtain mercy in return.

So therefore my dear friends, how merciful are you?  Can you remember one person to whom you have shown mercy to in the last 24 hours? If you show mercy to others, it shows that you are like your heavenly Father. Know for sure that whatever mercy you show today, God will take care to show you the same. Remember, you need mercy in the day of judgment. It is in this light that I will admonish you to help the poor and wretched. Forgive those who injure you and always make sure you watch out for an opportunity to show mercy.
