A handmade training drone has reportedly crashed due to a technical glitch on the southeastern Iranian island of Jask.
The unmanned aircraft belonged to the Iranian Navy and went down after its engine stopped functioning, Second Flotilla Admiral Reza Abbasi said on Sunday, Iran’s Tasnim News Agency reported.
After the technical snag, the UAV hit a nearby electrical cable and caused a fire, he added.
“Luckily, the incident did not cause any human loss or injury,” the official concluded.
The island is home to a Navy base.
