Nigerian music star Barry Showkey, son of the legendary Fuji pioneer Sikiru Ayinde Barrister (Alhaji Agba Barusati), is set to make a powerful return to the music scene with his highly anticipated single titled “ROBOROBO”, scheduled for global release on May 15, 2025.

After a significant hiatus, Barry Showkey is reintroducing himself with a vibrant fusion of traditional Fuji sounds and contemporary rhythms—signaling a bold new chapter in his career.

Speaking ahead of the release, the versatile artist reflected on his father’s influence and the deeper meaning behind the new track.

“My father always told me, ‘Focus on your own path, build your legacy, don’t depend on mine.’ That’s the energy behind ROBOROBO. It’s about authenticity, resilience, and rhythm,” he said.

ROBOROBO will be distributed by Digital Music Commerce and Exchange (DMCE) and made available on more than 30 digital platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, Boomplay, YouTube Music, Audiomack, Deezer, TIDAL, SoundCloud, TikTok, Pandora, and Amazon Music, among others.

Barry Showkey hails from a family of musical talent, with his younger brother Barry Jhay also enjoying a successful career in the Nigerian music industry. However, Barry Showkey has carved out a distinct sound—one that pays homage to his legendary lineage while embracing modern musical expressions.

With ROBOROBO, he aims to bridge generations of music lovers, appealing to both long-time Fuji enthusiasts and newer fans of Afrobeats and indigenous fusion.
