Dele Momodu, a prominent PDP chieftain, has warned that President Bola Tinubu cannot be unseated in 2027 without a united opposition front. Speaking during a monthly program on the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State, Momodu emphasized that the current fragmentation within the PDP poses a significant obstacle to electoral success.
“The APC leadership is well aware that the PDP remains their only serious challenger for 2027,” Momodu stated. “This explains their systematic efforts to create divisions within our party at every level.”
He further highlighted internal challenges facing the PDP, noting that certain party members appear to be working against the party’s interests and stability. According to Momodu, these internal conflicts are being exploited by the ruling party.
“Only through a strong coalition of opposition parties can we mount an effective challenge to the current administration,” Momodu concluded, stressing the importance of unity in confronting the incumbent government.
He stated, “Anyone who wishes to challenge the current president successfully must come from a different region in Nigeria.”
