Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, representing Abia North, has stated that Abia State Governor Alex Otti of the Labour Party and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu are mutually supportive. Kalu made this assertion after a recent visit to Governor Otti in Umuahia, the capital of Abia State.
He downplayed the influence of the coalition formed by former presidential candidates Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party and Peter Obi of the Labour Party, who are attempting to challenge President Tinubu in the 2027 elections. Kalu emphasized that the All Progressives Congress remains the leading political party as the elections approach.
“We are not part of any coalition. What I know is that Otti is backing Tinubu, and Tinubu is backing Otti; that’s my position. I am not involved in any coalition,” he stated in a video shared by Channels Television.
Previously, it was reported that Orji referred to Atiku, Peter Obi, and the former governors of Kaduna and Rivers states, Nasir El-Rufai and Rotimi Amaechi, as friends and brothers.
