Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF), Senator Hope Uzodinma, has declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC) remains the most formidable political force in Nigeria and is well-positioned to retain power in the 2027 general elections.
He made this assertion during a solidarity visit to the newly appointed APC National Chairman, Dr Abdullahi Yilwatda, at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.
Uzodinma commended the party’s internal organisation, describing the APC as the most cohesive and well-structured political platform in the country. He said its strategic positioning and internal unity leave it without serious competition heading into the next electoral cycle.
“APC is not just the ruling party; it is the most organised and united party. We are unstoppable in 2027,” he declared.
The governor expressed strong support for Dr Yilwatda’s emergence as national chairman, describing him as a leader with the intellect, vision and temperament to guide the party through the evolving political terrain.
“He is tall, handsome, brilliant, and prepared to lead,” Uzodinma remarked, commending the chairman’s capacity to strengthen the party’s base and navigate complex national politics.
He also endorsed the party’s ongoing electronic membership registration drive, saying it would enable the APC to identify genuine supporters and inform key decisions ahead of the 2027 elections.
“This digital registration will help us separate real loyalists from mere spectators,” he said.
Uzodinma also dismissed the relevance of rival parties, saying the APC’s dominance is evident across the country. “In Nigeria today, we have the APC and others. That tells you where we are,” he said.
He was accompanied on the visit by Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule and other members of the PGF, all of whom pledged their full support for the new leadership under Dr Yilwatda.
