“Mama Raised a Kingmaker” — OSU Federal House Hopeful Eulogizes Late Mama Felicia, Prays for Arenyeka Family
By Eki David Greg, MKO
Hon. Henry Baro, the Uvwie-born political colossus and _The Asiwaju of Delta State_, has extended heartfelt condolences to High Chief Solomon Arenyeka, JP, Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Delta State, following the passing of his beloved mother and matriarch, Late Mama Felicia Oritselumewor Arenyeka, aged 91.
Hon. Baro, a leading aspirant for Okpe, Sapele and Uvwie Federal Constituency, OSU, described the matriarch’s death as “a blow to the body of APC in Delta, because when a mother who birthed a leader leaves, the entire family feels the void.”
In a condolence message made available to newsmen on Sunday, April 26, 2026, the Federal House hopeful paid glowing tribute to the late nonagenarian, noting that her 91 years were marked by virtue, sacrifice, and service to humanity.
STRAIGHT FROM THE HEART: ASIWAJU’S CONDOLENCE
“My dear Chairman, High Chief Solomon Arenyeka, JP,
My brother, my leader, my friend,
Words fail me. How do you console a man whose mother was his first prayer partner, his first party, his first peace?
Mama Felicia Oritselumewor Arenyeka was not just your mother — she was the matriarch who molded a kingmaker. At 91, she did not just live long; she lived right. She raised children who raise communities. She raised you, sir — the bridge-builder of our party, the father of APC in Delta.
I know this pain. A mother’s exit empties a room no crowd can fill. But I also know this truth: Mama did not die; she multiplied. She lives in your courage. She breathes in your leadership. She smiles each time you unite this party.
On behalf of the good people of Okpe, Sapele and Uvwie Federal Constituency, on behalf of Uvwie where my own umbilical cord is buried, and on behalf of the Baro political family, I condole with you and the entire Arenyeka dynasty.
May God, who loaned her to us for 91 fruitful years, now cradle her in eternal rest. May He give you, your siblings, and your children the strength to wear her legacy like a garment of honour.
Mama, thank you for giving Delta High Chief Solomon Arenyeka. We are because you were.
Rest well, Matriarch. Your labour was not in vain.”
_Burial arrangements for Late Mama Felicia Oritselumewor Arenyeka will be announced by the family._
