American rapper Cardi B reportedly came close to cancelling the final stop of her “Little Miss Drama” tour in Atlanta over the weekend following an alleged backstage confrontation with staff at State Farm Arena.
The Bronx-born superstar has been on a widely successful run with her second headlining arena tour, which supports her chart-topping sophomore album Am I the Drama?. The tour has drawn large crowds across multiple cities and was widely regarded as a milestone moment in her live performance career. However, the closing night in Atlanta was overshadowed by tension behind the scenes.
According to reports, the incident unfolded hours before Cardi was scheduled to take the stage, when she went live on Instagram and visibly expressed anger over what she described as disrespectful treatment of her team by venue staff. In the livestream, she appeared emotional and frustrated as she addressed the situation in real time.
“You and your f***ing employees are being disrespectful, I’m not going to perform today,” she said during the broadcast.
She further alleged that members of her touring team were mistreated upon arrival at the venue. “We got in here, your employees are being f***ing rude for no reason… pointing fingers for no reason, touching people for no reason,” she continued. “I did 35 shows, and I never had a problem, and we’ve been kind to everybody. So no, now I’m leaving.”
The livestream quickly circulated online, sparking widespread discussion among fans and industry observers about artist-venue relations and backstage working conditions during major arena tours.
Despite the earlier threat to withdraw from the show entirely, Cardi B ultimately proceeded with the performance, delivering a sold-out finale that marked the conclusion of her tour. The night also featured a surprise appearance from legendary rapper Missy Elliott, which drew a strong reaction from the audience and helped shift the tone of the evening back toward celebration.
However, Cardi made it clear on stage that the incident had significantly affected her feelings about the venue. Addressing the crowd directly, she expressed frustration while maintaining her appreciation for the Atlanta audience.
“I’m pissed off right now, I ain’t gon’ lie. This arena been playing a lot of fing games with me,” she said during her performance. “This will be the last time I’m ever in this bh. Next time, b***h, I’m having my concert in the parking lot.”
While she reaffirmed her support for the Atlanta Hawks, who are associated with the venue, she stressed that her issues were specifically with the arena staff and not the city or its fans. “I’m tired of y’all playing with me,” she added.
The remarks have sparked speculation that future Atlanta performances by the rapper may be relocated to alternative venues such as Mercedes-Benz Stadium or other large-capacity arenas in the region, including Gas South Arena, depending on tour requirements and logistics.
Following the concert, Cardi B took to X (formerly Twitter) to reflect on the situation and issue a broader message about respect and leadership in positions of authority. Without directly naming individuals, she wrote: “When you hold power and authority, use it with kindness and respect. Never abuse it… because not everyone will endure your arrogance in silence.”
The incident adds an unexpected controversy to what has otherwise been a highly successful tour for Cardi B, who has continued to solidify her position as one of the most prominent live performers in contemporary hip-hop. Despite the backstage dispute, the final show ultimately concluded with a full performance, marking the end of her arena run on a high note for fans, even as tensions behind the scenes remained unresolved.
