The Managing Director of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Chief Festus Ochonogor, has extended warm congratulations to Delta State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori on his emergence as the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the 2027 general elections.
Chief Ochonogor made the commendation following the conclusion of the APC governorship primary election held across Delta State, where Governor Oborevwori was returned unopposed as the party’s flagbearer.
Speaking on the outcome, the DESOPADEC MD described the development as a clear reflection of the governor’s widespread acceptance and the confidence reposed in his leadership by party members and the people of Delta State.
“The overwhelming support and peaceful conduct of the primary across the state demonstrate that Deltans are united in their desire for continuity, stability, and progress,” Chief Ochonogor stated.
“Governor Oborevwori’s emergence is not just a victory for the APC, but a victory for every Deltan who believes in sustained development, inclusive governance, and prosperity for all.”
He noted that since assuming office, Governor Oborevwori has prioritized infrastructure, human capital development, and the welfare of oil-producing communities, aligning with DESOPADEC’s mandate to accelerate development in the state’s mandate areas.
“Under His Excellency’s leadership, we have witnessed renewed commitment to the M.O.R.E. Agenda, and DESOPADEC remains fully aligned to complement these efforts in our mandate areas.
The party’s decision to present him again in 2027 is a recognition of the results on ground,” he added.
Chief Ochonogor called on all APC stakeholders and Deltans across party lines to rally behind the governor to ensure that the state continues on its trajectory of growth and inclusive development.
He also commended party leaders and members for conducting a peaceful and orderly primary process.
“As we look ahead to 2027, I urge us all to put the interest of Delta State first.
The work of building our state is a collective responsibility, and with Governor Oborevwori at the helm, I am confident that Delta will witness even greater progress,” he said.
