The younger Fayose directly linked the timing of the executive announcement to a recent political visit by former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi to his residence. He claimed that the federal administration acted hastily following the meeting, alleging that the appointment was a calculated political move to engage with the family following public interactions with opposition figures. Expressing dissatisfaction with the specific role offered, Isaac noted that other political figures were given ministerial or ambassadorial posts, whereas his brother was assigned to head the board of a federal parastatal.
