Executive Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Political Matters, Dr Maurice Ojoede, has congratulated the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Chief Festus Keyamo, SAN, on his emergence as the recipient of the “Minister of the Decade” award by the Daily Times.
Keyamo received the award on Thursday at the Daily Times Centenary Celebration held in Abuja, as part of activities marking the newspaper’s 100 years of existence.
The award recognised the minister’s contributions to public service and national development.
The Daily Times had earlier listed Keyamo among the winners of its DTN@100 Heroes Awards, describing the recognition as part of its centenary programme.
In a congratulatory message, Ojoede described the honour as a fitting recognition of Keyamo’s commitment to national service and his contributions to the development of Nigeria’s aviation sector.
He said the award was particularly significant because it came from an institution with a century-long history of documenting Nigeria’s political, economic and social development.
Ojoede, a renowned business tycoon, founder of Omo Foundation and Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of Kinging Logistics and Automobiles Ltd, said Keyamo’s recognition should inspire other public officials to remain committed to excellence, innovation and service to the country.
He wished the minister continued success in office, expressing confidence that his leadership would contribute further to the growth and transformation of Nigeria’s aviation and aerospace industry.
The Daily Times, which commenced publication in 1926, has described its centenary awards as an effort to recognise Nigerians and institutions whose leadership, public service, enterprise and innovation have contributed to national development.
