The Executive Chairman of Uvwie Local Government Council, Hon. Chief Anthony Onoriode Ofoni, JP, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Olorogun Festus Egwarewa Keyamo, SAN, CON, FCIArb (UK), on his recognition as the Public Service Person of the Year 2026 by LEADERSHIP Newspapers and his subsequent recognition with the Minister of the Decade Award at the Daily Times Centenary Celebration.
Hon. Ofoni described the distinguished honours as deserving recognition of Olorogun Keyamo's exceptional contributions to public service and his transformative leadership in Nigeria's aviation and aerospace sector.
According to the Uvwie Council Chairman, the prestigious recognitions stand as significant affirmations of the far-reaching reforms and purposeful leadership that have characterised Keyamo's stewardship of the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development.
He noted that under the Minister's leadership, the aviation sector has witnessed sustained efforts towards regulatory reforms, enhanced aviation safety standards, strengthened international cooperation and the strategic repositioning of Nigeria's aviation and aerospace industry.
Hon. Ofoni said the honours represent a crowning recognition of a public servant whose commitment to excellence and national development has continued to attract attention and admiration across the country.

The Council Chairman said Keyamo's journey in public service continues to inspire pride across Uvwie, the entire Urhobo nation and Delta State.
He said that in every assignment entrusted to him, the Minister had continued to carry the dignity and heritage of his people with honour while translating his experience, knowledge and commitment into tangible service for humanity and national development.
According to Hon. Ofoni, Keyamo's consistency of purpose, courage of conviction and unwavering commitment to duty demonstrate that excellence in public office is not accidental but the product of discipline, hard work and a deliberate commitment to the collective good.
“Through your consistency of purpose, courage of conviction and unwavering commitment to public service, you have demonstrated that excellence in leadership is neither accidental nor incidental. It is the result of disciplined effort, integrity and a clear vision directed towards the progress of our people and the future of our nation,” he added.
Hon. Ofoni further noted that the latest recognitions add to the numerous honours Olorogun Keyamo has received in acknowledgement of his contributions to national development.
He recalled the Minister's recognition as Minister of the Year 2025/2026 at the Silverbird Man of the Year Awards and his Public Sector Icon distinction at the Vanguard Personality of the Year Awards, describing the series of honours as evidence of the breadth and significance of his impact in public service.
The Uvwie Council Chairman, however, described the LEADERSHIP Public Service Person of the Year 2026 Award and the Minister of the Decade Award recognition by Daily Times as particularly significant acknowledgements of Keyamo's transformative leadership and commitment to achieving measurable results.
