Dr. Sandra Duru, a Nigerian activist based in the United States, revealed alarming details on Thursday evening regarding the alleged actions of suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.
According to Duru, Akpoti-Uduaghan offered her N200 million to accuse Senate President Godswill Akpabio of organ harvesting after her earlier sexual harassment accusations failed to gain traction.
During a live Facebook session, Duru presented evidence, including phone interactions, to challenge Akpoti-Uduaghan’s claims that she had never communicated with her.
Duru described Akpoti-Uduaghan as a “pathological liar,” stating that the senator lied recklessly.
Duru explained that Akpoti-Uduaghan had confided in her, revealing that the best way for someone to become popular in Nigeria was to attack the government, as many Nigerians are “gullible and hungry.”
Duru further stated that the senator had confessed her motivation was the promise of becoming Kogi’s governor or even the Minister of Petroleum Resources.
The activist also detailed how Akpoti-Uduaghan allegedly shared plans with her to pressure Akpabio into stepping down.
According to Duru, the senator disclosed that her sponsors aimed to weaken President Bola Tinubu’s position and prevent him from securing a second term.
In her one-hour live broadcast, Duru claimed that Akpoti-Uduaghan and her associates had bribed former Minister of Education Dr. Oby Ezekwesili to appear before the Senate Ethics Committee and disrupt proceedings, preventing the Kogi senator from presenting evidence of the alleged sexual harassment.
Duru revealed that Akpoti-Uduaghan admitted the sexual harassment claim was fabricated, expressing disappointment that key figures like Ezekwesili and Dr. Abiola had not defended her before the Senate committee.
The activist went on to share how Akpoti-Uduaghan had asked her to assist in writing to international agencies and making media claims accusing Akpabio of organ harvesting. Duru stated, “She told me that Akpabio murdered a young woman named Umoren and took her kidney for his wife. She wanted Akpabio removed from office as he was allegedly shielding the Nigerian president.”
Duru revealed that the senator had also provided the names of her sponsors and promised financial support for the campaign.
However, Duru claimed that after refusing the money, she faced threats from Akpoti-Uduaghan.
In a dramatic twist, Duru mentioned that she would not reveal the full details of what Akpoti-Uduaghan had said about her husband, Emmanuel Uduaghan.
However, Duru did state that the senator had accused her husband of poisoning her and allegedly threatened to return the favor.
