Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani
Qatar has warned that Israel’s acts of aggression against Iran risk sparking a broader conflict in West Asia.
Speaking with his British and Emirati counterparts in separate phone calls on Sunday, Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani harshly condemned Israel’s violations of Iranian sovereignty and security as a clear breach of international law.
Al-Thani warned that Israel’s escalating strikes against Iran and across the region undermine peace efforts and could trigger further instability.
The Qatari diplomat reiterated that Doha is working with regional and international partners to halt the aggression and prevent the region from descending into a wider war.
Israel launched its aggression against Iran by striking both civilian and military sites across the capital, Tehran, and other major cities in the early hours of Friday.
Dozens of innocent civilians, including children, along with several top military officials and commanders, have been killed in the Israeli airstrikes.
Iran launched retaliatory strikes against Israel on Friday night, with barrages of ballistic and hypersonic missiles.
