Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has restated his administration’s commitment to safeguarding the welfare of pensioners in Kogi State, assuring that retirees will continue to receive priority attention.
Speaking during a courtesy visit to the National Pension Commission (PenCom) in Abuja, the governor outlined measures already put in place to guarantee the regular disbursement of gratuities and the gradual clearance of outstanding pension arrears. He stressed that pension sector reforms have remained a personal advocacy even before his assumption of office.
Ododo also congratulated Omolola Oloworaran on her appointment as the new Director-General of PenCom, describing her as a pride of Kogi State and pledging his administration’s support for her tenure.
In response, Oloworaran lauded the governor’s resolve to protect the welfare of retirees and highlighted the state’s progress in tackling pension-related challenges. She further expressed PenCom’s readiness to deepen collaboration with Kogi State to strengthen pension administration and ensure financial security for workers and retirees.
Both parties emphasized their shared vision of building a transparent and sustainable pension system that guarantees dignity for retirees across the state.
